As a black therapist, finding a clinical supervisor that looked like me was very difficult. Now I believe it's my responsibility to not only grow the field, but be sure that there is a representation of clinicians to learn and grow from.
I have experience working in the private practice sector as well as community mental health. I utilize both of these experiences to frame my supervisions as well as Family Systems Therapy and EcoStructural Family Therapy. Using these two methods of treatment allows for parallel processes and isomorphic patterns to be idenitfied both in the supervision as well as in the therapy room. My hope is to guide clinicians through the work with their clients as the clinician would guide the client to their healing.
Supervision will follow a consultancy format. It will include case conceptualization presentations (discussion and video), review of literature, regulations, ethics codes as needed as well as person of the therapist work.
